Things I’ve Noted of Note:

Been a while since I’ve done a post about stuff that’s happening of note in the world. So here it is.

1. The excellent werewolf novel called “Tainted Blood, by Ferrel D. Moore, is going to be free for the Kindle for the next few days. It’s not started quite yet but you can check it out here.

By the way, I understand that my piece, “Harvest of War” is gonna be free soon too for a few days. I’ll post about that. So if you haven’t bought it, hold off for a day or two and you may be able to get it for nothing.

2. The spring issue of White Cat Magazine is out and looks to be a great one. Check it out free here.

3. A new musical release that I’m tremendously excited about is now officially debuted. It’s the first CD from American Falcon. I’d heard several songs from this in rough format, and one in particular, “Tallulah Black,” is just awesome. My copy arrived today. I'm listening to "Tallulah" now and it is every bit as good as I remember. Damn but this rocks! If you like good hard rock I think you should too. You can check it out: here.

4. Patti Abbott is running the results of her flash fiction challenge, with her own story up and links to others. For some good free reads, check it out.

5. I’m also wondering how I’ve missed the band called “Clutch.” I heard a song by them the first time the other day and loved it. I’m on YouTube today playing as much as I can find by them. Here’s Mr. Shiny Cadillackness.

And on the ridiculously lame side:

6. Rick Santorum has referred to President Obama as a “Government Nig”ger. I think it’s pretty clear if you listen to the first part of this. The fact that it is looped irritates me but it looks like this is the real thing. Is it possible for this guy to get any more ridiculous?

Thanks for all the links!

I hadn't heard that about Santorum--can't say it super shocks me. He's said other absurd things.

As unlikely as it is, a Santorum presidency is the only thing that really scares me about this election.

I'll have to check out your music suggestions. My 80's mix of rock desperately needs an update. :)

Thanks for the tip on American Falcon.

And the tip on Tainted Blood.

I extremely dislike Santorum, but I don't think that video proves anything. He tripped over some word, but who knows what it was, as he didn't say it past the 'n' sound.

I hope you don't mind but I need a C-word for tomorrow's A to Z blogpost and I chose you. I'll just point people to your blog, etc. C is for Charles.

Although we're pretty conservative at our house, I think Santorum is an I-D-I-O-T. In fact, I have a hard time saying his name. When I do, it usually comes out sanitarium.

I saw that Tainted Blood was free!

Thanks for the tips about the stories and about yours in particular.

About the political stuff... Sometimes, i think politicians are a separated species or sormething like that.

Cool. Lots of free stuff. I've been looking for better stuff to read in hard copy, lately (no time for computers), but maybe I can print out some of the short stories.

Golden eagle, indeed he has.

Tom, me too on the Santorum issue.

Paul, it doesn't prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt, but I feel it's pretty clear what he meant. Who knows for sure, though.

Jess, I think sanitation, as in he's in need of some.

Alex, and that's purty cool.

Deka, so it would seem.

X-Dell, Harvest to war would be pretty easy to print out. It's not too long.

Hey, checking in just to say hi. Thinking of you and Lana and wishing you well. Hugs to you both.

Really Charles Pabst, Schlitz, Red Dog? I enjoyed that short memoir even though I rarely drank beer as a kid, I was more like the dude who threw the whatever into the fire.

Sadly the Santorum slip is actually about what 57 percent of white men over 50 think of Obama but are afraid to say the word nigger because they think everyone will automatically put them in a category. Which some would truly belong in, but that thinking is a chain passed from generation to generation.

Fuck 'em as White man over 50 living inside of Detroit I know why they think the way they do. White male Americans are losing the grip on power and it scares the shit out of them.

Odd how probably the most eloquent president of the last 40 years get's tagged with a pejorative by a white Christian Catholic who if this was 90 years ago would have been just a much a target of the KKK as any black man who stepped out of line.

Santorum was, is and always will be an ideological hypocrite.

Checking in on you. And, yes, I think it's possible for Rick Santorum to be even more ridiculous. I'm heading to Patti's blog.

Its hard to find good new music, so I gotta check out American Falcon.

Yes to your last question and thanks for the publicity.

Rachel, thankee. I appreciate it.

Mark, agreed on Santorum.

Barrie, that is scary about him getting more ridiculous.

David J., excellent, man. I really like this CD immensely.

Patti, No prob.

[p]rick santorum is as ridiculous as the other [p]rick, from texas... thankfully no one has to put up with him, other than texans :(

thx for the other info, too, charles

Charles, thanks for the freebies. I'd prefer a second Obama presidency. The man has been saying a lot of nice things about India though he's also been complaining how Indians and the Chinese are taking away American jobs. Traditionally, the Reps are more pro-India than the Dems.

Just grabbed my copy of Tainted Blood. Thanks for the tip.

And big thanks for the American Falcon plug too! I'm glad you like the CD.

I've been trying to avoid primary nonsense.

It's been awhile since I got really excited about a band. There have been individual artists that have turned my head...Adelle, to name one. But no bands.

I'll have to check out the ones you named.

Charles Gramlich said...

Laughingwolf, I see Santorum signs in our area. I'm ashamed.

Prashant, I think Obama has great promise but hasn't lived up to it. Still, against this opposition I'd have to vote for him.

Chris, very much so.

Travis Cody, the "Falcon" is well worth a listen.
