Off Line through no choice of mine

As of Sunday night about 9:00, our phone and internet went out. We called AT & T the next morning bright and early and they told us it would be fixed by May 17, Saturday. When I protest they supposedly switched me to a supervisor, where I remained on hold for over 20 minutes and finally hung up. I am not happy but it seems there is little I can do,

Almost any other week would not have been a problem because I'd be going into work. But this marks the one full week I have off before summer school starts and I was hoping not to have to make the two and a half hour round trip this week. I finally came over to the library with my laptop, which is a good 15 minute drive but much better than the alternative. Unfortunately, I failed to bring extra batteries for my mouse, which is dying. This laptop gives me a problem with the built-in mouse so now I'm up a creek.

Anyway, this is why I'm not visiting blogs this week. I'll be back as soon as we get phone and net back.

Be careful out there. We are having the worst storms I ever remember in the Midwest.

The other morning I fired up my pad to check on the blog: no service. Felt awful! The other week, we had a flood in here, necessitating 2 weeks of workmen, restoration guys. Carpet cleaned today: "The End?"

Now the water is off. *Sigh*
Anything outside one's body is gravy. Just keep breathing and loving Lana (the last, easy :-)

eh, perhaps this is for the good...it will give you more time to write...smiles. i have 7 more days before i get my break...well after teacher workdays...blechh. smiles. enjoy man

Perhaps Brian is right...a needed break from the computer will rest the eyes. Enjoy the time off.

Charles, sorry about your phone and internet and hope the connections are restored soon. It's probably a good time to see if you can do without either. I've done that and felt like a fish out of water.

as I'm concerned, you should be asking for - and getting - a week off the bill, since you should not have to pay for something not delivered. But they will laugh at that too, the (choose nasty adjective).

Seems the small ISPs will good customer service have all been bought out by the mammoths (Comcast, AT&T) who like the profit, but not the customers.

Throughout my extensive travels in the U.S.,AT & T had always been courteous and helpful.
...But that was l991 !
