Winning the Day at Novel Spaces

I'm posting at Novel Spaces today on the subject of "Winning the Day." It's a term I picked up from Drew Brees's book Coming Back Stronger. Brees, of course, is the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, who on Thursday night beat the Minnesota Vikings in the first game of the 2010 NFL season. I'm enjoying the book quite a bit, and will have a review of it here after I finish it. In the meantime, I'm talking about the book and about writing over on Novel Spaces, so please stop by.

I will add here soemthign to what i said at Novel Spaces: The concept o winning the day, of do the tb¡hings step by step, is essential. me, for example. Af first, i wanted to write my shorts in a row.

Meeec, i was deadly wrong. Very deadly wrong. So, i say: Have a personal "winning the day" is essential.

Deka, sometimes the game plan doesn't go as you expect it and you have to improvise. But you can still win.

Yeah, i know first hand. Like have to correct a lot of typos (2 hours) in your text. I'm not dislexic. I'm only someone who types too fast.

With two fingers only.

If you're from Detroit, you forget about football.

Deka, it's good in those cases to have a spellchecker mark those for you. I mess up when I type fast too.

Patty, see, the Saints 'fans' used to be kind of like that. This was our first time in 43 years to be in the championship. Maybe Detroit's time is coming.

Charles, that was quite the inspirational column. Thanks.

ANd Deka, yes, Aussies like their rugby and their cricket. And dwarf-tossing, but that's another story...

Deka Black, lol.

Bryan, my wife is from Canada and prefers hockey to football.

Deka, Steve, rugby. Ahh. And thanks for the comment, Steve.
