Metal versus Hard Rock 4

Picking numbers 6 through 10 of my favorite hard rock songs proved very difficult. So, I ended up making a further division of favorites. Below is my next set of Hard Rock songs, and later I will put up two other lists: My five favorite Southern Rock songs and my favorite "One Rock Wonders" bands.

6. U2: Bullet the Blue Sky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JjDDgK8KXc

7. Black Label Society: Funeral Bell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTKvkWlK6J4

8. Rage Against the Machine: Guerilla Radio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0kJLW2EwMg

9. Monster Magnet: Space Lord: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dscfeQOMuGw

10. White Zombie: Black Sunshine:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqPClltS5k8

Black Sunshine is a unique choice from White Zombie.

Great lists Charles, looking forward to that "One Rock Wonders" just to see what your individual taste will be there.

And looking back I noticed #1 on your metal list- "Symphony of Destruction". I've listened to that one a lot while writing a particular chapter in one of my WIP's, though I was listening to the Nightwish version.

That U2 song is rarely heard on radio as they more interesting in overkilling songs like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and other tripe. It is an excellent song.

Monster Magnet is a great choice. The entire c.d. kicks ass.

You either like their politics or not, but ya gotta admit that RATM created some outstanding music.

Alex, I love the little spoken word stuff in that.

David J., I've heard the Nightwish song. Like them quite a bit.

Bernard, most of these are more recent than the top five. I bet you'll know the southern rock ones

Oscar, I suspected that would be the case. :)

Riot Kitty, the only really hard rock song in U2s repertoire. I love the poetry of the lyrics.

Brian, Monster Magnet has a bunch of pretty good songs, particularly Bummer. They are often called Stoner rock.

G. B., I liked Sunday Bloody Sunday but it sure did get old. I like a lot of Rage.

Charles, in this list U2 is the only one I'm familiar with. But then, I haven't listened to a lot of hard rock. I grew up on pop music and I think I'm growing old on it too.

Great songs. Haven't heard "Space Lord" in a long while, and it's a favorite.

Cloudia, diplomatically said. :)

Prashant, I'm not a big U2 fan but I love this song.

Ty, such cool lyrics too
