Updates

Lana's 2nd chemo treatment is tomorrow.  Her first seems to have worked wonders on the cancer site, which has shrunk dramatically.  The doctor told us today that he wanted to start radiation therapy in about 2 weeks and, hopefully, that will knock this thing out.  The radiation treatment will be a major pain in the ass, with her needing to go five days a week for treatment, for six weeks.  The treatments themselves will be short but it's a  little less than a 2 hour round trip for us.  But if that is going to do it then it's a tiny price to pay.

Man, Charles;

Stayin' somewhere sweet near there might could be a much better idea (when you really think about it).

Less wear and tear on the artiste!

I know she's in good hands.

Tomorrow I revisit the future and salute Uncle Ray (Bradbury). Did he inspire you? Too mainstream?

Best wishes & Aloha from Waikiki,

Cloudia, we were thinking about that. May give it a try. Yes, Bradbury was a huge influence on me.

Keith, yes it's definitely good news.

That's a relief, Charles. I hope the to-and-fro trips aren't a strain on you both. All the best to Lana.

paying prices is spending time...seems like a worthwhile price to pay spending time to me.

great news! let's hope the radiation treatments are the last thing she needs to kick that crab!

i have a ton on bradbury posted on my fb page... including 11 of his shorts, with ray narrating; they run about 24 minutes, each...

I missed the part where she would have to go through radiation treatment too. That is like a living horror story. I'm glad the first part is working. At least you can both approach the second phase in a more confident manner because of the success so far. The drive... :(

I hope the radiation treatment does take care of it. All the best to both of you!

Praying for Lana. I think of you both every day and hate it so much that Lana is having to experience this. There just aren't any adequate words ...

Sounds good. Cloudia's idea might work. Having seen what my sister and a friend experience with radiation treatments, the less stress the better.

Hope yesterday went well. Two hours round trip sounds exhausting. I am thinking about you both.

Mark, indeed so.
Alex, thank you.

Sean, we appreciate it.

Paul, I was certainly worried. Still am but am feeling somewhat better

Laughingwolf, I hope so. Cool on the Bradbury. I’ll check that out. I’m a huge fan of his of course.

Bernard, They sort of sprung that on us. We had heard nothing about Radiation therapy until the one day at the Doctor’s office when he said he wanted to get it started. Maybe they didn’t want us to deal with too much at once but they should have told us earlier.

The Golden Eagle, thank you.

Erik Donald France, Lana is pretty tough and this kind of treatment ain’t for the faint of heart.

Issa's Untidy Hut, I’ll definitely keep things updated. Appreciate the good thoughts.

Jess * Jessie * Jessy, We appreciate the thoughts. That helps us keep going.

Randy, yeah, we’ve been trying to maintain a pretty quiet life these days. Will have to see what we can come up with to ease the commute issues.

Patti, She had more reaction to this chemo than the first but still not a horrible response so far. The steroids they give with it wouldn’t let her sleep last night, though.

Glad the first treatment went well. Hang in there, you too. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

G.B., so are we for sure.

Ivan, it seems like it's paying off now. I'm glad for all those researchers.

Sage, it's a good thing when you can look forward with some hope.

Yeah, I always thought my radiation treatments were a PITA too. The treatment itself was fine and never made me ill, although I did get a few slight burns. The inconvenience of having to go every day for weeks was annoying.

So good to hear about the successful first round of chemo! Good luck with the second one!

I second Cloudia's suggestion. On the other hand, your own home may be what offers more comfort.

Travis Cody, thanks for sharing that, man. We are hoping for a good outcome.

Merisi, we'll probably play that by ear, whether we stay at home or look for a closer place for a a short period.

Rachel, thank you.

Mimi, thanks. we both appreciate it.
