I'm over at Novel Spaces for the next couple of days. I did a post on the hybrids in literature, particularly in science fiction. I hope you can drop by.
i'm not reading much fantasy or scifi, so i can't relate to that, so i will relate to something else instead, as it wasn’t until after the book was largely done that I considered the influences that led me to Duash got me thinking about the influences we have and how often does a writer knows that s/he was influenced by something particular... sometimes an influence gets so 'inside' that the author feels the idea is geniuely his/hers. or sometimes a writer may get a total block fearing that the idea s/he pampered writing will fail, because the idea originally belonged to someone else... these were my thoughts :) and i will surely return to that site to read some more there...

Nice job on hybrid characters, Charles. The Novel Spaces venue is intriguing and I imagine very useful for fiction writers and all.
Don, thanks. I appreciate you dropping by. We've got a pretty good crew there.
I'll be heading there shortly, Charles.
Will do within twelve hours!
Rick, thankee.
Erik, yeah, it's nice when they stay up two days. Gives folks a bit more time.
Enjoy your time at Novel Spaces.
All the best, Boonie
Ditto Boonie's comment Charles, enjoy.
Boonie, thankee.
Gaston, and to you too.
Just stopping in to let you know how much I enjoyed Ruins and Wraiths.

Travis Cody, Thanks. Man. I'm glad to hear that. That story went through so many incarnations but I'm finally happy with it.
Szelsofa, the idea of influences intrigues me a lot. Sometimes, I'm almost afraid to question too closely where my ideas come from. :)
