Ashedit on Gramlich

I feel like all I'm doing lately is touting my own horn, but there's something neat that's just gone up that I want to call to your attention. Over at Ashedit's Blog, Elaine is having a kind of Gramlich extravaganza. I think it's kind of cool so I hope you'll check it out.

Thanks so much to Elaine for putting this up. Much appreciated.

Also, I'd almost forgotten that June 27 was coming up. The second of my monthly posts is up over at Novel Spaces. This one is not about me but about "For the Love of Books." There's some cover photos I think many of you might appreciate. It's just down from the top.

Not only do you deserve it, but your pictures are so good, it's the closest to thing to a movie that can be made without "moving pictures." Thanks for working with me and being a good sport, Charles.

Very cool!

Elaine, now you'll make me blush. :)

Sid, thanks, man.

Okay, let me phrase that another way. Your wife has such a talent with her camera, that she actually makes you look interesting. Wait a minute, maybe that didn't come out right either....

Elaine, perhaps you should have tried that comment as Anonymous-9. :)

Just kidding, of course.

Very nice write up on the Ashedit blog. Especially liked the opening.

Great photos, too. I was especially interested with the handguns, but then I usually am. I love Uberti, used to own an Uberti Outlaw in .357 mag and am disappointed the company no longer makes that particular six shooter in that particular caliber. When it comes to double action revolvers, I tend to prefer S&W, but Colt is a close second. I've not fired a Sig Sauer so can't comment much there, but I do enjoy the 9mm round in semi-autos.

Thanks for the links.

All the best, Boonie

Yur pic working makes me remember the pics i see often of the Robert E. Howard's room in his house, 21st century version.

Is abitlike: "After a long morning of shooting evildoers, let's write about it" ;)

Ty Johnston, The Sig is a nice shooting gun, but I've personally had problems with it jamming on occassion. Apparently it was "sold" to me almost bone dry on oil, which might have been part of the problem. I've taken care of that but I haven't shot it a lot since then to see if the problem is fixed.

Boonie, and thanks for dropping by. I appreciate it.

Deka Black, I like the "evildoers" line. My room is a bit bigger than Howard's in Cross Plains, but I sure would like to have his magic.

As always, a grand interview and it shows yet another aspect. I didn't know about your writer's diary. Maybe I will try that myself for some motivation.

Thanks, Elaine and Charles!

Charles, just came from 'Ashedit's'. Very wonderful getting to know you better!

Paul, it works for me. I've been doing it for many years now.

Jodi, thank you. I appreciate you visiting over there.

Pretty cool retrospective.

Elaine did a wonderful post on you. The journaling on your writing excerpt between the cool black & white pics was so neat.

Hi all, I knew that Charles had something important to share with his journaling concept. I wanted to bring his idea to my blog and show others how it works for him. The comments are very gratifying, and traffic to Ashedit broke all previous records. Gramlich delivers!

To more great write ups like Elaine's! :-)

Your journal writing is inspiring me to try a "Project Diary" - for all the good reasons you cited, but especially #2. ;-)

Travis Cody, thanks man.

Jodi MacArthur, She came up with the idea of the journal excerpt after I mentioned it to her. I like how it came out

Elaine Ash, I'm sure your revelation of Anonymous-9 brought in a big part of the traffic yesterday. But thank you for your kind words and all your work.

Merisi, I didn't expect people would find that part so interesting. I'm glad.

Hi all! Charles' journal idea inspired me this morning. One word that hasn't been mentioned yet is PRIORITIZE. I have a lot of writing I can do. Some tasks are more fun than others. But if I'm going to really make headway, I need to prioritize the tasks that are most important to me. I can see that if I kept a journal (and I must) my priorities might be out of order on some days. I'm going to keep better track.

Oh, yeah -- to the break of day! I'll be checking out the links . . . Nothing wrong with an author-artist touting one's horn. Certainly no terrible danger of acting like a Donald Trump or whatnot !!!

EA said...

At the risk of setting off the great debate, is it "touting one's horn" or "tooting one's horn?" I always thought it was tooting, but now I realize that's what I've said since I was a child, and I've never really checked.

Charles Gramlich said...

Elaine, definitely. I find that if I let myself just kind of go with the flow I end up doing a lot of wheel spinnin by moving from one task to another without making good progress on any of them. as for tooting/touting, "tooting" is definetly the usual phrase. I think "touting" kind of works.

Erik Donald France, I don't believe I have it in me to act like the Donald, and I'm glad of that.
