I'd normally leave "The Gray Man" post front and center for another day but there is some breaking news I wanted to share. Richard Godwin has interviewed me over at Chin Wag At The Slaughterhouse, and it's certainly the most unique interview I've ever done. There's already some good comments and discussion so if you get a chance to check it out, you might find it intersting.

Charles, I read, or rather tried to read the interview. Apparently I am too much a dumbass to truly understand it, tho! You brainiacs! Congrats tho--it's very impressive!

Well, i tried to understand the interview. Been hard, but there is one thing i like to quote:
"I believe fantasy literature does exactly the opposite of undermining reality. I think it teaches us that the standard concept of reality is far too simplistic and restricting."
I believe i understand this, But i'm not too sure, really. But if you want to say the things i'm thinking, well, i'm with you.
Oh, one last thing: Why the people keep scaring me with a image of Carlos Bardem. (ugliest actor in my country)?
The most thought-provoking interview with an author I've read in a long time. And now I've got to hunt down a copy of The Snow Leopard and add it to my TBR pile.

Deka Black, it's a long way of saying that fantasy is very important. What is reality now was once fantasy. There are some pretty ugly actors out there, for sure.

After reading the interview I realize your brain is always relaying information in surround sound. My brain on the other hand is hearing in less than stereo.
To be certain the post was interesting if a bit intimidating to someone with just a high school education.

Good questions and thoughtful answers. Best author interview I've read in a looooong time. I like your comments about "reality" and how fiction that deals with the irrational can free us to think out of the box.
THE SNOW LEOPARD has been on the top of my best books ever list since I read it c1980. It's a spiritual journey grounded so deeply in the physical world. And beautifully written.
