Back To School, and To The Stars

Well, school is back in session. We had registration on Thursday and Friday. Classes start on Monday . I’ve got a pretty good schedule this year and I’m ready. My class numbers are pretty large so it’ll be a busy grading year. As usual once school starts, I won’t be blogging quite as much or able to visit blogs as regularly. The last couple of blog posts were prescheduled.

A bit of good writing news. To The Stars and Beyond: The Second Borgo Press Book of Science Fiction Stories is out and up on Amazon. Why is it good writing news for me? Because it contains my story, “I Can Spend You,” which is one of my favorites among my own stories. There are also stories by Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Richard Lupoff, along with plenty of other writers. They’re really holding the prices down on this series to try and encourage readers. So far it is only available in print, but I think it’s going to be a kindle book as well. That’s what it says in the “Product Description.”

And now I’m off to make my blogging rounds.

Hey that's cool! So it will be a Kindle book? I can download Kindle books on my iPad as well as those from the iBookstore.

Paul, I haven't even gotten my copy yet so I'm not sure exactly what's in it.

Alex, I'm pretty sure it will be. Not sure when.

Deka, I like twist ending stories and this has one of the best ones I've ever done. When I do readings I often read it and it usually gets the gasp I like.

Laughingwolf, cool.

Charles on the story and what a great title for a blog post!

Golden Eagle, thankee.

Don, I kind of liked the title too.

Charles, congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading your story. I also really like Dick Lupoff (he co-edited with Don Thomson one of my favorite books about the comics, ALL IN COLOR FOR A DIME).

Richard, I've got Lupoff's book about ERB and really enjoyed that.

I can't tell you how much I envy you. I live for semesters.

I see I have a new book for my growing reading list.

"I Can Spend You" is a great story. Congratulations, baby!

Wouldn't school be great without the students? ;-p

Excellent news about the anthology too! :)

Best of luck with this year, Charles.

X Dell, my own list is longer than my arms and legs together. Much longer. But at least I don't figure I'll be bored for a while.

Deka Black, I've written quite a few twist ending stories. I think this is the best one of the ones I've done.

Lana Gramlich, thank you sweetness.

Steve Malley, indeed so. Many teachers of my acquaintence have remarked very much the same thing.

David Cranmer, thanks, man. I appreciate it.

Congratulations Charles, and going back to school sounds like a dream to me:)

Charles Gramlich said...

Oceangirl, I definitely prefer going back to school as a teacher rather than a student, but I didn't mind being a student

Elaine Ash said...

Awesome, another Gramlich book available. Back to school, bummer. Is it really the end of August already?

Oscar said...

Nice cover and title.

Charles Gramlich said...

Elaine, only one story of mine in that one, but it is there. I know, I can't believe how fast the summer went.

Oscar, I'm having trouble posting on your site using Internet explorer, which is the only browser I have at school. We can't download other browsers to our work computers ourselves so I'll have to get a IT person in.

Sidney said...

Even though I'm not really affected, it always makes me a little sad when school starts back. Means summer is over.

Travis Erwin said...

Hope you have a great year.

Charles Gramlich said...

Sidney, I guess we never quite get over our own childhood experiences.

Travis Erwin, thanks, I appreciate that.
