A couple of interesting bits, at least for me.
1. My first novel, Cold in the Light, is finally available as a Kindle ebook. It's $4.99, but that is for something like 140 thousand words. If you're interested, it's HERE. It's not up on Nook yet. Not sure when the publisher will put it up. The back cover blurb is below:
Where the beings known as the Whoun came from, only a few know....
What they're going to do next is anyone's guess....
But in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, where a decades old conspiracy has started to unravel, a cop and a doctor are about to find out. Against an enemy from their nightmares, the two will have to fight, to save the life of an unborn child who isn't human, a child that will change their world forever.
In the brooding forest, they'll learn what it means to fear the dark.
...And the light.
It's a darn good book if I do say so myself.
2. Paul R. McNamee has reviewed some of the latest Orc short stories released as ebooks, including my own "Harvest of War." Check out what he has to say. (Thanks, Paul.)
"Harvest of War" is just .99 cents on Amazon, HERE.
3. I got word that my space opera, "Under the Ember Star," will be released soon. Not up yet, though. I'll let folks know. I'm excited about it, though.
4. Finals are beginning here. I get my final papers today and am giving multiple tests over the next week. May not be around all that much. Wish me luck.

Luck with all your work Charles-and my best to Lana.
Good luck with finals. We've still got a couple of weeks before ours.
I'll have to throw in ... for those who haven't read "Harvest of War," rush right now and snag it up. You won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a fantasy fan, this is a solid story.
Lots of good news! Is your book in the iBookstore yet? Must check iPad...
Glad I don't have to take finals. Just purchased the book but it'll probably be awhile before I get to it. I'm swamped. Tweeted it though. Hope you sell a bazillion!
Good luck with the exams! I remember my teachers being all grumpy and exhausted when the exams came. Take care ;)
Darn near irresistible blurb, my friend.
David, J, thanks, man.
Keith, we started very early this year.
Ty, thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I was pretty happy with it. It felt pretty right to me.
Alex, I don't know. I just looked on Amazon. I don't have an iphone myself.
Jess, me too, on the bazillion front. I know about long reading lists. me too.
Deka, that's me, grumpy and exhausted.
Ron, thanks. I'm kind of proud of that one. Wrote it myself. ;)
You've got a right fine catalog there, sir! And one I need to catch up on this summer. Kudos! (And fingers crossed for finals.)
I've been thinking about reading Cold in the Light, but I've got it in my head that it's scary. I'm a big chicken when it comes to scary books.
Gotta talk myself into it because I do enjoy your stories.
1. Finals already? Where does the time go.
2. I didn't realize CitL was that long. Seemed much shorter, but it was such a good read.
3. I gotta catch up with your writing.

Should I wish you or your students luck? Congratulations on the good news and hang in there during the long days.

I can't help myself I like to spam.
I hope more people discover your writing Charles it is entertaining and there is more there than just the surface story.
Luck!
Travis Cody, I don't think of it as super scary, but I think it is pretty intense. It's a thriller, and I do think the atmosphere is kind of creepy.
X-Dell, I thought my word count was around 140 K, but when I just looked it's 119 K, so shorter than I remember.
Diorentien, thanks.
Sage, most of my students look to be doing pretty well. There are a few who could use some luck.
Mark, thanks. I would like that too. It would be nice.
Patty, thankee.
Congratulations and good luck Charles! Busy itself is good news :)
Charles, here's wishing you luck with your final papers. That IS one heck of a blurb — I haven't read one as good as this one in a fairly long time. Did you write it yourself?
I love the blurb for your book.
Good luck with all the finals!
Congrats, good luck & best wishes to both of you~~!
Oceangirl, thanks. I believe you're right.
Prashant, I did. I'm hoping others will like at as well. thanks for the kind words.
Golden eagle, thanks on both counts.
Erik, I appreciate that, man.
So glad you are getting the profiling, Charles and go well with the ending of the semester. Best to you and Lana.
Luck, Charles and Cold in the Light is great!
M.M., thanks. I'm happy with that too.
Rick, thank you, man. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Charles, Did I tell you how much I enjoyed "Harvest of War?" Answer: tons, sir. It ranks high with your best.
As a wigged-out english teacher I know that I drink too much.
Obsessed for years with the subjunctive and the indicative, I am certainly intrigued by your sentence:
Where the beings known as the Whoun came from, only a few know...
...I think I drink too much.
David, I appreciate that. I'm really glad you liked it.
Ivan, I take it that sentence is a problem? I never was very good with grammar.
140,000 words? Holy hypen that's a bigun. I can't even imagine putting 140,000 words down. 50,000 is a stretch for me. Congratulations, Charles!
