New post up at Novel Spaces this morning. I'm talking about lying in fiction and reality. I hope you can stop by.
Here's a couple of other things I want to call to your attention. Both involving White Cat Publications, which is a new independent publisher with a lot on the ball.
First, they have an April Fools flash fiction contest running. Check it out here
Second, they are running a Kickstarter project for their first book publication, a tremendously fine werewolf novel that I've actually read in manuscript form. You can find out more about that HERE. I'm in.

k, will look...
ReplyDeleteLying in fiction is easier to me. Because i am unable to lie and make people believe what i'm saying
ReplyDeleteLaughingwolf, thankee.
ReplyDeleteDeka, me too pretty much.
Will look at it. Always glad for new venues.
ReplyDeletePatti, cool.
ReplyDeleteI have to see about that Kickstarter for my own work. I suspect a few will do well (as usual) and a lot will be left withering in the wind.
ReplyDeleteYou raised some good questions over there about lying to gain an audience. A beer gut is all you'd need for your persona for Days of Beer! :)
ReplyDeleteDavid Cranmer, most likely. I'm not sure what would work or not work in that set up.
ReplyDeleteSage, got that one covered.
lying in an autobiography, no matter how short it may be, (perhaps, a few lines for the back cover of a book...) is repulsive.
ReplyDeletethe same goes for non-fiction, like scientific papers...
and in fiction, there is no lying at all. if the writer is good enough s/he creates a parallel universe with rules, events and persons within.
some of these have a definite background in reality. the more the better i tend to think, but whatever. it is fiction, after all.
:)
