Well, my last post listed some of my favorite books for 2014. I've already got one for my 2015 list, Wanderings on Darker
Shores, by Cora Pop. 2014, 201 pages. ISBN# = 9780993939303
I’ve read and enjoyed some of Cora Pop’s writings before at
her blog, Chick With a Quill. Mostly she had shared poetry that was dark but
very human. I loved her use of language so when I found out about Wanderings on Darker Shores I bought it.
This is a collection of mostly short stories with a few poems. The language is,
as I expected, eerie and lyrical. What I was somewhat surprised at was the
depth of story in these tales. The tales are mostly short but crammed full of thought
and detail. Like most good writers, I’m sure Ms. Pop has influences across a
broad spectrum. I particularly noted shades of Poe and Lovecraft in these
tales. My advice on this one would be: come for the language, stay for the
story.

Is there an electronic edition of this book? Due to space constraints, I try to buy ebooks when possible these days.
Cloudia, :)
Vesper, no prob. Good stories and poems.
Keith West, I don't think there is at present. I'll have to try and find out from the author about her plans.
Interesting recommendation. I like anything inspired by Poe.

Riot Kitty, me too generally.
Prashant, yes, very cool.
I loved reading the proofs for this book, I learned more about a type of story telling I have never been very good at in those few weeks.
No electronic edition yet Cora wanted to try traditional for her first book, but with a little nudging I think we could push her to a second which would free her mind up yo e-book this one.
I love her name!
Mark, Yeah, I didn't think she'd put out the ebook yet. Great work.
