Harmland and other Updates

The writing has been slow but at least I'm doing some.  My planned collection, "Harmland," is coming along. It's almost completed in content and I've pretty much got the cover issues resolved.  Probably it will go up in June.  Yesterday I put in several hours of work and managed to finish three book reviews that I've promised to The Dark Man Journal.  I'll give those a final look through today and email them off. It will be good to have some stuff going out instead of having more things pile up on my desk/computer.

Lana and I had planned a trip to Yellowstone right about now, but had to cancel it because of her chemo.  Although I enjoy such trips, I'm enough of a homebody that I'm not really going to feel that bad.  And, Lana's chemo seems to be working at present. The swollen node in her neck has decreased in size and that's a good thing.

Off to give those reviews a final read through.  Then we need to do some grocery shopping since we're about out of food in the house.  I wonder if I should have a shower before I leave the house?  If you hear about any strange wild animal sightings in Abita Springs, Louisiana on May 29 you'll know I decided against the shower!

That's great news about Lana! And I'd recommend a shower.

Summer travel plans curtailed here for similar reasons. Glad to know treatment seems to be progressing well for Lana. She's a sweetheart.

Alex, you would eh?

Ron, yes she is.

Paul, indeed!

Deka, yes, we are too. And maybe you're right about the shower.

Although I'm sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip, I'm glad to know Lana is doing better. Will you be at Howard Days in a couple of weeks?

Also, I'll be monitoring the news about strange animal sightings. :)

yay on lana's improvement... AND your writing progress :)

forget the shower... be a cave man, man... or, like olden times cowboys, sattidy nite baths, whether needed of not! ;)

as for grub, it may come on its own, looking for you - then just shoot it!

Keith, afraid I won't be in Cross Plains this year. I'll miss it.

Travis Erwin, thankee, man.

Golden Eagle, we too

Laughingwolf, about the only thing that might come looking for me around here is a racoon. I think I can handle those with all the weapons I've got.

Dude trust me...take the shower---it's not pretty when they start throwing out all the produce and dairy in the grocery store because they can't find out what it is that is stinking up the joint.

Yay Lana! Kick ass!

As long as we're talking writing I have #4 about 1/2 way assembled.

Best wishes to Lana. I'm glad the chemo's working and hope it keeps doing so. [crossed fingers]

Showers can be overrated. Glad she is on the mend, and that you are finding your groove again! :)

Hate to hear you won't make Cross Plains, but given Lana's treatments, I'm not surprised. Hopefully you can be there next year. I'd love to sit down, have a beer with you, and talk about Howard, writing, and anything else that comes up.

Charles Gramlich said...

Laughingwolf, I've eaten coon before, my friend.

Cloudia, only if she does! :)

Patti, that could be.

Mark, cool on #4.

Angie, thanks much.

Bernard, we too

Tom, my thoughts exactly on showers.

Keith, yes, I know you will have a great time.

Charles, I am happy to know that Lana is making good progress and I hope she continues to do so, leading up to a complete recovery. Three book reviews? That's a lot of writing. Reviews are fun to do but they are a tricky business. I'm still learning the ropes, though.

Charles, I've not been around much and didn't know of your wife's cancer--I'm glad the treatment seems to be going well.

I say skip the shower, walk through the woods, and give the Sasquatch faithful something to believe in. ;)

Yellowstone will still be there next year for you two. Good luck with Harmland.

Charles Gramlich said...

Prashant, I'm a reviewer, among other things, for the Dark Man Journal.

Danette, I'll put on really big boots!

Laughingwolf, hum, I'll check that out. Last wild game I had was squirrel.

X-Dell, true, and thanks.

Charles, Great news for Miss Lana! I too, for all the traveling I do, am a complete homebody. I am perfectly content in my yard or reading. I do prefer food delivery tho! Take care of your girl with some good, healthy stuff!

Wild animals at Abita Springs!

My friend Josie recently vacationed at Vancouver Island.

I told her to beware of the also vacationing Sasquatch.

At least hope for peaceful coexistence!

It is so heartening to hear Lana is maintaing!

Charles Gramlich said...

Jodi, I love food delivery. We can only get pizza where we live but that's ok. the trees make up for it.

Ivan, If I were taller I'd have been responsible for plenty of sasquatch sightings when I was younger and always hanging out in the woods.

Great news about Lana! Keeping my positive thoughts flowing south.

Charles,

I see, from your logo.

But a Sasquatch carrying an ignition key?

I think they found one in Olduvai Gorge.

Maybe for a Lada. Australopithecus Paisan?

Peggy would take a shower before she left the house, but I would not, so whether you should take a shower comes down to whom you like better.

I am thrilled that the chemo is going well, and am glad you are taking the trip cancellation in stride. Like you, I had about as soon stay as go. I've seen Yellowstone, and it's awfully nice, but home is a lot more convenient; you've got to give it that.

Charles Gramlich said...

Travis Cody, will do.

Ivan, I'm looking for some of those kinds of fossils in my backyard. No luck so far, but I'm confident.

Snowbrush, these days I'm liking convenience. It's so much less stressful.
