A Matter of Convention

I'm over at Novel Spaces for today with a post about something that happened to me at a recent SF/Fantasy convention. Stop by if you get the chance.

Uuuf, from my point of view... being mercenary is not bad, if you are honest and do a good story. But also i think you must live some situations to be able to give a good opinion.

What i'n trying to say is that when writing is your only source of income, well, some things must be done.

(One last thing: This is the hardest comment i done here. My english must be improving)

Been there, done that (that is, been to the Novel Spaces post). :)

Deka, I certainly recognize the difference between people having to sell to make a living and those who don't, but there's also in most of those cases still an element of choice in the life they want to lead. It's a complicated topic, I think.

Sage, thankee. btw, I got your book comments off of facebook and have made notes. I just haven't had time to pursue the books yet.

Yes, is complicated. And that's why i fear i didn't knew how to explain myself.

Hard to stop reading. Buying books will never be out with me.

Got to hope that one day all the hard work really will take you to the transcendent breakthrough moment where you sell enough to afford your reading habit!
