ReplyDeleteI see some of my faves, but you are more head bangy.....😸⭐
ReplyDeleteAlex, good stuff
ReplyDeleteCloudia, probably so!
We could road trip together.
ReplyDeleteI'm not that into music, so I couldn't really put together anything meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI binged through Supernatural a few months back (all the seasons on Netflix, anyway) and came to like metal because Dean's into it and they use it in a lot of the shows. One thing you figure out fairly soon is that any time the episode's recap montage is set to "Carry On My Wayward Son," it's going to be a great ep. :)
Angie
I'm thinking a number of those might make my own list.
ReplyDeleteCharles, I used to listen to Black Sabbath a very long time ago and I remember liking some of the songs I heard. I still listen to Aerosmith occasionally.
ReplyDeleteThis would be more interesting with reasons for each... I was wondering about "Crimson and Clover. I was trying to think of what my early song might be and it would have to be "Silence is Golden" for I remember the bubble gum song about the same time I had to write that line a few hundred times as penance for my 4th grade teacher
ReplyDeleteGood list. :)
ReplyDeleteChris, cool. And drink beer?
ReplyDeleteAngie, That whole Kansas album is pretty good. Most of it is much more mellow than Carry on.
Ty, it's interesting. Kind of a snapshot of my listening history.
Prashant, I still listen to old Aerosmith, not much of the new. But I have pretty much every Black Sabbath album.
Sage, I might do an expansion on it. Crimson and clover was the first "rock" song I ever heard and it really opened my ears.
Bernard, thanks man
Nice one, Charles. I had "White Room" and another Cream song on an early version of my list but they went on a cut, trying to get to 25. That early ZZ Top song is great, too. The further down your list I go, the less likely I am to have listed it myself. And how could I have left "Mississippi Queen" off my list???
ReplyDeleteRichard, Mississippi Queen. One of the first real "heavy" songs.
ReplyDelete#1 Seriously? Is this what turned you into a metal head?
ReplyDeleteMark, that was the first 'rock' song I ever heard so it was like an epiphany. It did indeed start me on that road. Before I heard Crimson and Clover all I'd ever heard in our house was country and Lawrence Welk kind of music.
ReplyDeleteI put up mine before seeing yours. They are very different but you reminded me of a few I should have included.
ReplyDeleteAnd drink beer indeed!
ReplyDeletePatti, I've already thought of a few that might better replace some of these. I might do an updated and annotated list at some point.
ReplyDeleteChris, thumbs up, man.
That's a very interesting mix. I love Alice Cooper.
ReplyDeleteSome titles in there would be on my list.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what you are talking about since I'm not musical.
ReplyDeleteRiot Kitty, there have been a number of Cooper songs over the years that resonated with me.
ReplyDeleteDavid, some are ubiquitous for folks of a certain age, I guess.
Oscar, not even Roy Rogers? :)
Haha I know these. There's a logic to the list, thematically and musically.
ReplyDeleteErik, it moves from softer to harder for sure, although toward the end that breaks down a bit.
ReplyDeleteCharles-I loved Crimson and Clover! I'd really have to think hard to narrow the list down.
