The technician from AT & T showed up about 8:30 this morning and took about 15 minutes to restore our phone service and internet. Turns out a tree limb had fallen on the wires across the road from us and that proved easily rectified.
Although I'm very glad the guy finally came to fix it, and that it was easily done, I'm still furious that AT & T let us sit for a week without any phone and net service. They could clearly care less if they have our business or not.
Anyway, I'm way, way behind on things so I'll start going around to blogs before long. It will take me a day or two to catch up, I imagine.
I can't believe they took so long! Glad it's working now though.
ReplyDeleteI worked for AT& T for several years and they would have fixed it within 24 hours. How times have changed.
ReplyDeleteFinally. I hope you call the billing dept. and request an adjustment for the weeks service you didn't get.
ReplyDeleteI'll be glad to see your comments on my and other blogs.
Also, don't forget to threaten them with with some other internet provider (phone service can be as easy as skype these days). Tell them you are reminded that you get what you pay for, and perhaps paying a little more would be worth respect and attention. They clearly need more people, that is almost always the case, understaffing of service crews means that customers suffer at the expense of immediate profit.
ReplyDeleteOK, rant over. My bad.
ugh. well i am glad it was fixed. it is why i dumped verizon...they made me sit a week...it did not go well...smiles...their service sucked anyway.
ReplyDeleteAlex, yes, what a royal pain in the ass.
ReplyDeletePatti, they don't much value our business, that is clear.
Richard, I will call them Monday for sure.
eric1313, Living well out in the country causes us some difficulties with changing providers. We've tried satellite internet and that was even worse.
Brian, yeah, I have verizon for my cell phone and they irritate me pretty badly.
Charles, that's good news. In my case, as in the rest of the country, one need not depend solely on the primary service provider to rectify things; one can call on any one with knowledge of how these things work, such as your local IT engineer or phone mechanic. They come at short notice.
ReplyDeleteI hate AT&T.
ReplyDeleteThey also never discount the bill because of service not provided.
