For Reasons Unknown

For reasons unknown, my blog suddenly disappeared yesterday. In fact, I found myself persona non grata with Google so that I couldn't log in to my gmail account or anything else powered by Google. That includes Blogger. I sent an email to their contact and access was restored sometime after midnight last night. I don't know why but I'm glad everything is back with no problems.

I'll have a big announcement, for me anyway, coming up on Tuesday.

  1. Glad you're back in business. Being Christmas, maybe it was the Grinch screwing with you.

A good Christmas to both you guys.

  2. That's scary. I have way too many social media accounts open through Google. I don't think I'd have the energy to start over either.

    Can't wait for your announcement!

  5. Randy, could be. Glad to be back.

Christina, I was bumming over the thought I'd have to.

Ty, she's feeling some better and sleeping better, although we still have a ways to go.

  7. That is scary all right. Did Google tell you why it happened? I keep a backup of my posts in Word file and some key photos in a folder...just in case. I guess if you don't have your own bandwidth/server/domain or whatever they call it you're always at someone else's mercy.

  12. Prashant, I guess so. I have most of my posts saved as word files too. The biggest pain would be restoring all the links on the page itself.

SQT, me too. I was worried for a bit.

Deka, it's good news. From my point of view at least.

Merisi, it was a bit scary. I've put a lot of work in on this thing.

Erik, thanks, man. I appreciate it.

  16. I'll look forward to your announcement. And I'm glad to see you're back on the air.

I had a instance when someone flagged me as a spam blog. It took about a week for me to get back to my account.

  17. Congrats on the good news--whatever it is. Since I'm out of town, I might not read about it until later in the week. :)

I was pegged a spam blog too once and boy! what a headache. They shut me down for several days.

  18. X-dell, I figure it's probably something like that. I was frankly surprised I got back up so quickly.

Jess, Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if that's it. Glad to be back up fast.
