They started the surgery an hour late but finally got it done. The doctor said it came out well and that the main problem was some bone spurs and a tear in the tissue that connects the bone to the shoulder. They repaired all that.
Lana is pretty miserable at the moment. Her throat is very sore from the intubation and she’s having quite a bit of pain. She didn’t really get to sleep until about 5:30 this morning. But hopefully she will feel better soon. We’ll both rest easier. Then I’ll be returning to regular blogging and blog visiting.

Ugh - I am very familiar with that sore throat thing. Hopefully they will let her go home soon so she can get some real rest. Thanks for keeping us updated, Charles and I'm glad at least the surgery went well. Tell Lana I'm thinking of her.
ReplyDeleteGlad every thing went alright considering.
ReplyDeleteThe post surgery stuff is the pits. It messes with your immune system too so watch who comes to visit. She'll be really susceptible to airborne blights.
ReplyDeleteCharles,
ReplyDeletePlease tell Lana I said 'hi' and to heal up soon. You both take care.
I'm glad it came out well, and hope recovery is fast, and as easy as this sort of thing ever is. Hugs to both of you.
ReplyDeleteAngie
Yuk also to the post surgery sore throat but glad to hear all went well; I'm Lana's recovery will be rapid.
ReplyDeleteHey Charles,
ReplyDeleteSending all my love and good thoughts to you and Lana! Surgery is evil. And yes, very familiar with the intubation. That is the worst of it, I do believe, in some ways. Here's hoping she feels better soon!
Sorry it's causing discomfort but glad the surgery part is over. May recovery come quickly.
ReplyDeleteFalls into the "feels so good when it stops category". Hope you are both relatively joyful in a few days.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteSend her my well-wishes, please!

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it went ok. No extra limbs removed or organs taken by mistake... whew :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the recovery process goes speedily.
It takes a bit to feel better after all that. The throat pain is the horrible along with the pain from the surgery.
ReplyDeleteWishing her and you the best.
I had a friend who had to have this exact surgery. He felt much better once the recovery period was over-- hopefully the same will be true of Lana.
ReplyDeleteAw, Charles, poor Lana sounds miserable! At least it turned out okay. Just hang in there and give it some time...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the surgery was successful, although recovery can be painful. May the two of you find time to rest and to celebrate during your break.
ReplyDeleteKnow how you feel Lana...it get;s much better pretty quick. Good luck with it all and DO use the pain drugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update, Charles.
ReplyDeleteWe've been worried.
My sympathies to Lana! I had a bad shoulder (rotator cuff problem) for almost a year, and it was pure hell.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Lana becomes more comfortable and that she heals quickly. I'll say a prayer for her.
