Posting pictures today. Lana and I got a digital camera for our wedding from one of her good friends, and yesterday we took a bunch of pics at the Flatwoods, the nearby preserve I've mentioned here a few times. I thought I'd share a few so here goes.
nice pics! I like the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteAnd those are the footprints of a....?
ReplyDeleteThese are some lovely photos, Charles!
Very nice. It's great to go digital and have your pics immediately.
ReplyDeleteNice pics. I like the tangle of flowers, and the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteAngie
I hope you have great fun with your digital camera. I know we have with ours.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the title of your post, I thought you were going to let us see some wedding photos. I'd still like to see those.
Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI bought a digital camera about 3 years ago for $400. It broke a couple of months ago. I took it to a camera shop, and the cost to repair it (starting price) was $251. I said 'no thanks.'
That's the last time I'll buy a camera that expensive. I'm hoping to take it to a man who repairs watches and has his own little shop. Since he's used to taking apart things....
Anyway, enjoy your camera!!
Me too--about the wedding pics!!!

Beautiful. I particularly like the little footprints -- very mysterious.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of digital photography! It's addicting, and pretty much free after you get the equipment...if you don't print too many out.
ReplyDeleteI particularly liked the shot of the raccoon prints. Made me want to get up early and go hiking to find similar opportunities.
These are nice pictures. I like the pattern on the butterfly's wings. Good job on the composition in all the pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. The prints are indeed a racoon's prints. There are a lot of them in this area. We also got pictures of deer prints, heron prints, dog prints, and what is either a coyote, small dog, or possibly a fox. I'll show some of those at another time.
ReplyDeleteAs for the wedding pics, they are coming. We didn't take these ourselves, thus the delay.
Btw, Lana did the composition on all the ones I posted here. she's much better with a camera than I am.
GReat pictures! You live in a beautiful area! I love the racoon prints in the dirt. I used to work for NWF and our kid's magazine is Ranger Rick who is a racoon. When we moved to the new building, apparently a racoon had walked in the cement, leaving perfect racoon prints on the walkway to the buildings. It was a perfect addition.
ReplyDeleteLike the footprints.
ReplyDeleteRacoon?
For a moment they resembled those hand prints in the Altamira Caves.
Great photos! I can't believe you just got the camera--your results are excellent.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos
